The moon symbolizes all that is mysterious. The moon is a source of feminine energy. She represents the universal rhythm of life.
I really wanted to manifest all that the moon could be with this painting. The woman in the painting represents the goddess of the moon, Luna but she goes by many different names. In Roman and Greek mythology she was depicted as wearing a crescent moon crown.
I also wanted to convey that the moon is full of hidden energy. I depicted the goddess as if her body was made out of moon rock and cracking open to reveal the divine energy inside of her.
